Mr Chan graduated from the University of Western Australia in Perth, Australia with a double major in Anatomy & Human Biology and Physiology. He then enrolled into the National Institute of Education (NIE) to pursue his Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) to become a MOE teacher.

Upon graduation from NIE, he has been teaching in a reputable school. Mr Chan specialises in the teaching of Lower Secondary Science and Upper Secondary Biology for graduating students (both IP and Express).

 

Mr Chan seek to develop an appreciation in science in all his students. His passionate teaching resulted in many of his lower secondary students developing an interest for the subject and many of them go on to take up triple science in the upper secondary. Numerous of his graduated Biology students also chose to pursue courses or subject combinations that are Biology related in their tertiary education due to their strong fondness for the subject.

Mr Chan uses a variety of pedagogical methods such as everyday common analogies, real-world applications, relevant animations and videos in the explanation of scientific concepts to aid in students’ understanding and draw the common link between related topics.

Mr Chan believes that every student is ‘teachable’ and has an equal ability to do well in Science with the right motivation and guidance that he can offer.

 

He has not only helped many to achieve good academic grades for the subject but also a love for Science. Mr Chan is always willing to go the extra mile to help those struggling in the subject to achieve distinctions and achieve their potential.
